The impact statement of a nonprofit is a tool used to measure the success of the nonprofit. It’s not a summary of income and expenses or how many people were served. The impact statement is proof that your non profit is accomplishing its mission.
Jason Saul of Mission Measurement suggests nonprofits create three specific outcomes that they want to accomplish and establish how to measure performance all within your nonprofit’s impact statement. However, there a many variations of impact statements.
The impact statement can be as short as a paragraph. Here are some examples of impact statements:
St. Baldrick’s Foundation’s – childhood cancer research
Greenhill Humane Society – animal shelter
National Christian Foundation (NCF) – ministry of NCF
